SUSPENSION BUSHES •
Suspension bushes are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a
car. They undergo enormous strains with no maintenance or lubrication. The rubber
compound that standard suspension bushes are manufactured from deteriorates
with age, becoming softer and less resistant to the forces applied on it. This allows
more movement of suspension components and less control over the suspension
geometry.
POWERFLEX design and manufacture a technologically advanced range of
polyurethane suspension bushes right here in the UK. Powerflex bushes outlast
standard bushes by a factor of ten and in the first year can save you the cost of the
bushes in tyre wear alone. Designed to control the unwanted flex in the vehicle’s
suspension, they allow the suspension to perform at its best, keeping your tyres in
contact with the surface at all times, improving braking stability and grip whilst
adding safety. Their advanced polyurethane compound overcomes the common
problem of increased noise associated with harder bushes. By correctly engineering
the compound, bushes can be made 25-30% stiffer than new standard rubber
bushes, but with exactly the same noise absorbing properties.

80% increase in stiffness to provide
maximum control of chassis
geometry. They are designed for the
track, ready to race and are
engineered to be the best.

Materials are colour coded to make them easily identifiable.
Below explains the shore rating and their common uses.
Red 65A – Used for the Universal exhaust mounts and diesel engine mounts.
Yellow 70A – Mainly used for engine mounts, diff mounts and subframe mounts or
areas where the bush needs a lot of movement and absorption.
Purple 80A – The most common material. This is used in most areas of the
suspension and provides the right mix between performance and compliance.
Black 95A – The hardest material. This is used mostly for the Black Series range or
in the Road Series where the vehicles standard suspension demands require the
use of this hardness of material i.e; in areas of high load.
