ENGINE TUNING •
DUMP VALVES
The purpose of a dump valve is to relieve excess pressure from the turbo when the throttle is closed, the
buildup of excess pressure when the throttle is closed can damage your turbo, and so this pressure needs
to be regulated and removed. Dump valves come in two forms, atmospheric (Blow off Valve - BoV) or
Recirculating (Bypass Valve -BPV), when the throttle closes an atmospheric valve releases the excess
pressure into the atmosphere giving a by product we all love, the “Pssh” sound, whereas a recirculation
valve will circulate that pressure to another part of the engine which can vary depending on design.
Often factory dump valve systems are made up of weak materials such as plastic, when tuning your engine
these valves can leak or fail, upgrading to a stronger and better-quality dump valve is an essential
turbo tuning support mod.

intercooler for your vehicle, incorporating the latest technology
in either a tube and fin or bar and plate core. The intercooler is
then complimented with their hand produced high flow end tanks.
The core and end tanks are finished in either raw silver aluminium
or with a black textured anti corrosion coating, which not only
looks superb, but also gives this product added longevity in the
harshest of environments. Forge’s intercoolers are tested on the
dyno against the stock cooler to measure the gains in power and
reduction in temperatures.
